Painter, engraver and exceptional lithographer, Claude Weisbush ceaselessly captured life's dynamics, as would an instant cliché, the pictorial, musical and literary expressions that are essentially human. His perception, eminently contemporary and recognized around the world, has led to constant renewed exhibitions. Since 1957 - date of his first exhibition in Paris - he exhibited throughout the world. Numerous museums hold his artworks.

"Explosive but with lyricism, Weisbuch works shouts out the most beautiful part of our humanity. The one we have ceased to reveal, because of a sense of decency: flaming passions, courage, terror, nobility…
Dominating in his work, by the relief and the velvety line which caracterizes dry-point, his etchings are the strongest representations of his figures, intensely lively.
The artist's mastery of gesture applied directly on the copper makes of Weisbuch in this discipline an artist who indisputably marked his time."
  -Thierry Lacan

Born in Thionville, France on February 8th, 1927.

After being an Alumni of the Ecole des Beaux, Arts in Nancy, he is appointed professor at the Ecole des Beaux Arts of Saint Etienne.

Since 1951, his graphic research in painting as well as in etching has brought the attention of Paris critics who, in 1961, awarded him their annual prize.

In 1968, he becomes a titular member of the French painters-engravers.
